Olawale Akinremi is a thoroughbred. A man of uncommon strength and endurance. A business owner and a veteran of the United States’ Army. As the youngest member of the Yoruba and Egba association of Oklahoma during his school days as a masters student at Oklahoma City University, he was instrumental in prepping for association nights and other Nigeria and especially Yoruba and Egba events. He also does chants (ewi) at many of the events. Little wonder he maintained this trend in 2016 when he moved to Colorado in January of 2016 and immediately identified with the Egba-Yewa Descendant Union of Colorado where after few months became Assistant General Secretary, acting General Secretary and currently the General Secretary. He was also a member of the 2018 convention planning committee and chairman youth night planning committee of the 2018 convention which was successfully hosted by the Colorado chapter. He was also head of protocol to receive Alake of Egbaland at the airport on arrival for the 2018 convention. As a result of his steadfastness and dedication to the Egba cause, he was nominated and elected unopposed as the financial secretary of the Egba National Association during the May 2021 virtual Conference, and sworn in September 4th 2021.
Olawale Akinremi is a believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and happily married with children.
